Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions outside the ones below? Give us a ring or book a time to meet with one of our Waukesha-based brokers.
1. Do I really need life insurance?
The following types of individuals may benefit from a life insurance policy:
- People who have a mortgage: those who own a house also own a large liability. Life Insurance allows you to the peace of mind to protect your loved ones, even if you are not physically here.
- People who have others who are financially dependent on them. If you have kids, a spouse, parent, or anyone else, they may be affected by your absence. You can protect them for any given amount of time with a term or whole life insurance policy.
- Individuals who wish to provide a financial gift. Many people want to cover education costs or donate to their favorite charity.
- Those who do not already have final expenses paid for. If you have not already paid for your funeral costs, and don't want your family to incur that expense, a whole life policy may be right for you.
Remember to think not only about income, but also about income saved. A parent, grandparent, friend, or neighbor who provides daycare services is likely saving a large amount of money each month, which can also be thought of as income.
2. Do I really need an IUL / Annuity / Trust?
Financial planning can be a very strong tool when utilized appropriately. Each situation is different based on your personal situation, current financial status, and future goals. A private consultation is the best way to determine what suits your needs best.
- IULs serve as both life insurance and an investment vehicle and can be customized for your situation.
- Annuities are a powerful tool that can be used to secure peace of mind for your future, as well as your family's.
- While trusts have recently grown in popularity, they are not always truly necessary. There are net worth caps that dictate if a trust is needed. One of the most important things you can do for your family today is establish a will, a health POA, and a financial POA. Call us to discuss further details.
3. I'm not ready to buy, but I want to learn more. What do I do?
That's completely normal. There are multiple steps to the application process for any of the life insurance or financial planning tools. Book a time with us to determine your eligibility, then we can review next steps after that. Being armed with the knowledge of where you stand is the first step to financial freedom.
4. I already have life insurance through my job - do I need this too?
The vast majority of our Waukesha clients have an automatic life insurance policy through their employer and are looking to supplement. Find out what amount of coverage you have, and the limitations of the policy itself. One of the reasons that employers' insurance seems so "cheap" is because it may not include all of the coverage needed for your situation.
5. Can I get health insurance?
Yes. We will connect you with one of our licensed health insurance brokers who will work to understand the best fit for your situation.
6. Can I get dental and vision?
Yes. One of our licensed insurance brokers will provide you the data you need.
7. What about disability?
Yes. We offer disability policies, as both stand-alone and embedded into some life insurance products.
